RPI was founded in 2008 by Morten Nielsen and Peter Rantzau on the premise that by taking serious consideration to the People that work for and with us, creating solutions that help our Planet and increasing Profits for the poor people of the rainforests, we can make a difference. Not only in the way the consumer perceives tropical rainforest timber of lesser known species, but also the way the suppliers of the timber perceive the economic and environmental issues involved the the forestry of this type of timber.
We are only as good as the people involved. Many people are in contact with our products in the process from raw wood to the finished product in the stores. We believe that if every step in the supply chain is being given fair and equal opportunities, all the individuals as well as the project as a whole will benefit.
If we are successful in distributing our products out to a large audience, there is no doubt that we can have a profound effect on the planet. This is the cornerstone of the project.
We realize that many of the issues regarding deforestation have roots in economic considerations. We also realize that in order for companies to change and go actively into new business areas, there must be profits. Therefore, we believe that increased profits for all involved in the value chain is a way of securing the commitment, effort and determination needed to create sustainable and environmentally friendly products and services.
